He preached at small churches and worked full time in the logging and lumbering business for about thirty years near Wellsville, New York, and over into Pennsylvania around Galeton and Coudersport. After preaching for eleven years he attended John Wesley Bible College in Greensboro, North Carolina. He then returned to Wellsville, New York and pastored the Scio Evangelical Methodist Church were he served about 21 years. He then moved to Apollo, Pennsylvania and pastored two churches there.
